Ted Basrak

Painter

Theodore (Ted) Basrak, died peacefully in his home Nov. 16, 2008.

He became a member of the Artists Cooperative Gallery in Langley where he was actively involved for many years. We will miss him dearly.

Ted is a member of the Northwest Watercolor Society and the Artists of South Whidbey. He has lived on Whidbey for 30 years, and says he has drawn inspiration from the landscape of the island and its changing weather. The rapid changes in stormy skies intrigue him as they bring new horizons into view. "Going to my studio is like going from one world to another. I fine serenity there and a magical feeling that is hard to express in words." Ted says he also often paints from his imagination, allowing images to come from some corner of my memory or from the music of the harp. A native of Yugoslavia, Ted has been studying painting since his childhood years in Belgrade.
