Susan Duff
I am a NW native and an adventuresome artist. After years of study in many different mediums I have found my love in monotype Printmaking. The magic that happens with each pass through the etching press keeps me intrigued. Our local natural surroundings are my inspiration. My original one-of-a-kind monotypes are created by applying etching ink to a plate and manipulating that ink with many implements (rags, brushes, rollers, sticks, knives, etc) to create a unique imagine. The image on the plate is then transferred to paper by a run through an etching press. Further enhancements are made with each pass through the press. The end result is a product of imagination, serendipity and experimentation. Archivally framed and matted. Limited Giclee archival quality reproductions are made and available. These are produced at Fine Balance Imaging in Langley, Washington. |
