Leslee Koritzke, Ceramics
My work explores the intersection of function, form, and daily ritual through wheel-thrown ceramics. Many pieces are designed to become part of everyday life — the cup reached for each morning or the bowl passed around the table — while others, such as decorative vessels, are meant to bring a quiet sense of warmth and presence to a space.
I work primarily on the wheel, where subtle variations in form allow each piece to develop its own character. Influenced by the tones of the Pacific Northwest, I’m drawn to surfaces that feel natural and inviting in the hand, where the evidence of the process remains visible.
I believe that art can offer moments of grounding and calm in the midst of daily life. Whether used regularly or simply enjoyed in a room, these pieces are intended to enhance everyday rituals and contribute to spaces that feel lived in, comforting, and whole…or to be deeply missed when they’re in the dishwasher.
