Gary is an award winning artist.  He was born and raised in Bakersfield, California, where he received his art education from Bakersfield College and California State University Bakersfield.  Having worked in a wide variety of mediums, including oil painting and sculpture, Gary now paints primarily in watercolor and teaches watercolor workshops.

He and his wife, Teri, relocated to Whidbey Island, Washington in August of 2008.  Capturing the island spirit through painting in an expressive style, Gary’s emphasis is on being more lyrical than literal in the interpretation of the subject.

I started my art education in 1966...supported my family as a General Building Contractor with a sideline art business until retirement in 2001 at which time art became my main focus.

Gary teaches classes at the Pacific Northwest Art School in Coupeville and served as juror for the Coupeville Festival Art Show 2010.  For information on his classes contact the Pacific Northwest Art School at (360) 678-3396
