Art Walk Demo: Ineke de Lange
Photographer Ineke de Lange states, “I take flowers (most of them I've grown in my garden) and arrange them in containers with water. I gradually add water until they are covered and completely frozen in the block of ice. I remove the block of ice from the container and photograph them with a macro lens under natural light. The results are unpredictable and usually a surprise.”
​Featured Artist: Pat Brookes
In her paintings, Pat Brookes draws inspiration from the textures, patterns, and visual memories of the past. Through experimentation and reworking, she brings familiar objects into fresh compositions where color, shape, and imagined surroundings come together- transforming the everyday into something both personal and unexpected.

Featured Artist: Jon Lyman
Jon Lyman uses silver to create in the “animalistic tradition” from the 19th century. He fashions sterling materials to tell stories through his bamboo fly rods as well as in the small creatures he creates. Using spoons, rings, charms and raw silver his work is, as one of the other Whidbey Art Gallery artists asserts, “Wonderfully strange.” “I begin each day with two or more hours in my studio,” Jon explains, “that creative time is often the finest part of my day!” Even so, after 54 years, Jon and his wife, Lesley, find Whidbey Island to be “paradise”. 
Member Show: Crow Show
October brings the return of The Crow Show, one of the Whidbey Art Gallery’s most popular annual traditions. Throughout the month, the gallery’s 38 member artists celebrate the intelligence, mystery and unmistakable personality of crows and ravens through paintings, sculpture, jewelry, mixed media and more. Each artist brings a unique perspective to these iconic birds, creating a wonderfully varied collection of original work. Join us during Langley’s First Saturday Art Walk—or stop in anytime in October—to experience a little corvid-inspired creativity and autumn magic on Whidbey Island.
