Susanne Ohrvik, Mixed Media
Artist Statement:
I have been painting, sketching and working in other mediums since I can remember. In 2020, art became a daily practice that has stayed with me. It has been my way of relaxing and enjoying some quality time with myself and trying to capture or convey something that moves or amuses me. I use different mediums, depending on what works best for the circumstances. Images from trips around Washington and abroad are mainly done in watercolor and gouache, and studio paintings are often oil and acrylic. I find plenty of inspiration right here on Whidbey Island, with its beautiful surroundings, quirky people and creatures, as well as in the mountains, at sea and in Sweden, where I spent half my life.
