What's happening at Whidbey Art Gallery
July 2025
Featured Artist: Lynda Ransley
Lynda creates art in multiple media including paintings, wood, and metal. This July, we're pleased to showcase her steel wall sculptures, made especially for our Featured Artist exhibition. Drawing inspiration from plants both in water and on land, Lynda hand-shapes each steel piece to capture the natural grace and beauty of botanical forms. The sculptures are mounted in custom-made wooden frames that allow them to play with light and shadow as they hang on the wall. |
Guest Artist: Jerry Hill
Jerry grew up in the Pacific Northwest and studied Formline design with Bill Holm at the University of Washington. After college he did further studies of indigenous history and culture. His jewelry, wood carving, and sculptures were recognized by the First Nations Tribes, and acknowledged by them over ten years ago. He taught carving at the University of Alaska in Juneau, and was awarded commissions by various native tribal leaders. His local public art commissions are located at the Transit Offices outside of Coupeville, and in Sequim. |
First Saturday Art Walk: July 5th, 5-7 p.m.
The Whidbey Art Gallery warmly welcomes you to join us for Langley's monthly art walk. Featured artists, special guests, and gallery members will be on hand to share the inspiration and techniques that bring each piece to life. Enjoy a glass of wine and some delicious chocolates and connect with the artists in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere—whether you're a seasoned art enthusiast or simply curious about the creative process. |
