August Art Walk at Whidbey Art Gallery
For this month’s Art Walk extravaganza, we will have Moe Jerome’s paintings, Declan Travis’ owl photography and Molly Hueffed’s pottery. Art Walk is from 5-7 PM in Langley. Enjoy music, beverages and snacks while strolling through our five rooms of art, Sculptural Garden and Petite Gallery. Look for those specially priced $25 items to continue celebrating our 25th anniversary with us.
My Koi Pond is a Mixed Media piece. Moe says, “Koi fish are very intellectual. They can be trained to eat out of your hand as I have done with mine.”
“Gotta love a crepuscular raptor whose diurnal activities while raising owlets mean I can shoot without night vision equipment (not that I have any). These broad daylight encounters are a welcome occurrence for about three months; then in September they send the kids packing and retreat into the periphery of my daydreams, where familiar yet unapproachable, they assume voices of wonderful terror... priesthood holders to all daughters of darkest night, invoking prayers that I have long since forgotten how to recite - still I am moved”, Declan proclaims.
Molly Hueffed is a professional artist and art educator living in Issaquah, WA. She creates her ceramic work out of the Jefferson Community Center Ceramic studio and from home. Her work continually evolves using new tools, expanding mediums, and combining concepts. She draws upon visions that manifest by watching colors from nature, and an inherent desire to create useable art.
