Walter Share, Watercolor
My paintings are Watercolors, Goauche, Oils, Acrylic and Digital, of Washington, Oregon & Alaska. I have painted and studied art since age twelve, for over 45 years in Michigan, where I was born, in Ann Arbor and Boston during undergraduate and graduate schools and Alaska & Seattle where I have lived the last 35 years. It is great to live in the Pacific Northwest where there is such an exciting visual diversity.
Watercolors and oils are my favorite since their soft edges permit more impressionistic paintings which change with the mood and invite the imagination to complete the scene. But I also love the digital paintings whose crisp lines and vivid colors are more like a silk screen. I enjoy changing between the different media. It keeps it fresh.
I Do all my own printing on Cards, Calendars and Prints using archival or fade resistant ink and paper. I am very fortunate to be able to make my living as an artist in a time when technology allows me to control the printing process to insure I get the colors I want.
